Act like Miley Cyrus to get a GREAT BODY, here's why...

So if you haven't seen it already, here's a picture of what Miley Cyrus did to married father Robin Thicke at the VMA's (Video Music Awards) last weekend...


Pretty Raunchy to say the least!

Now for the interesting but blindingly obvious part...

Before performing these provocative moves, Miley's Song 'We can't stop' was at number 6 in the charts and Robins 'Blurred lines' was at Number 10.

In just 2 days, 'We can't stop' is now at number 4, while 'Blurred lines' has rocketed up to number 2!!

Here's why... (if you hadn't already worked it out)

Miley, Robin and most probably their record labels, planned on doing something that would get people talking.

It's called a publicity stunt.

Why?

For a number of reasons,

The main two that spring to mind are:

1. Financial gain,

and 2. Increased celebrity status,

Let's focus on Miley for a second here..

The daughter of country music singer, Billy Ray Cirus,
knew she would get ridiculed for her behavior but continued anyway,

Why?

Because the reward was bigger than the risk.

Look at it this way..

Risk: People may criticise, condemn and complain about her performance for maybe a week, 2 if she's lucky but they will be talking about it!

This leads to the reward..

Reward: She sells a million more records, fills a plethora of column inches and could potentially sign collaborations with some of the worlds top artists.

It's a no-brainer!

And the way this can help you get the body of your dreams is simple...

If you're about to embark on a new health and fitness regime I can guarantee you will get ridiculed by someone at some stage,

That someone maybe your friends (I'd question the level of their friendship if the're ridiculing you for your new fitter, healthier way of life)

It may be your family,

Work colleagues,

It could be anyone.

What you have to remember is that the ridicule will eventually stop,

If you give up, however, that will stay with you forever!

Remember:


You might shut the people up around by quitting,

But you're the one that still has to look in the mirror when you get out the shower,

You're the one who's going to have to fit in to that outfit at the Christmas party,

Or the swimsuit on holiday..

So it's you're choice,

Do something,

Get ridiculed a bit,

And get the body of your dreams!

OR

Do nothing,

Keep your friends and family off your case,

Be a sheep,

And wonder,

WHAT IF...

What if I had of stuck to the workouts?

What if I had stuck to the nutrition plans?

What if I had said no when my work colleague offered me a piece of cake just to make them feel better?

What would my body look and feel like if I had just focused on the outcome?

My goals,

ME!

How my moustache can get you losing weight...




I've noticed recently that there's some sort of facial hair fashion sweeping across the UK. 

I'm sure you've seen it going on.. 

There's some pretty impressive designs out there! 

And it would be fair to say that I've always wanted to see what I would look like if I just 'let it grow'.

Now the beauty of being your own boss is no one to tell you how to walk, talk, dress, act or what to wear.

So, within reason, I can do and wear what I like, act how I like, speak how I like and basically be who I want to be! 

I'm not saying that to try and impress you or show off. 

I'm saying that because it means I can now attempt to grow a beard without a boss telling me I have to be clean shaven for work. 

Problem is, my face hasn't realised I hit puberty about 15 years ago! 

What has appeared on my face can in no way be described as a beard! 

It's a kind of fluffy trail along my upper lip and that's about as far as it goes. 

My friends tell me I look ridiculous and I need to give up my quest.

The physio at my gym tells me I look like some king of shoddy Poirot impersonator!

Even my misses thinks I should quit and get rid of it!

And I'm sure if you've seen me recently you'll probably think the same. 

However, and this is the reason for me writing this... 

I'm going to keep growing it! 

Why? 

Because I set a goal and I'm not going to stop until deadline day (the day I go on holiday)!


So how does this help you with your fat loss goals? 

You've probably guessed what I'm about to say but I'll say it anyway. ... 

Don't stop until you reach your goals! 

And if you've already started on that quest for a fitter, healthier, sexier, more confident body then why not give it 100% of your energy and focus?

The people out there with great bodies haven't got great genetics (well some of them might have) and it's not 'easy for them' because they're in great shape already.

They've got great bodies because they've worked bloody hard to get them!

The difference between winners and losers can be summed up in 8 words...

''Winners are prepared to do what losers aren't''.

In fact that quote is so Important you're going to read it again..

''WINNERS ARE PREPARED TO DO WHAT LOSERS AREN'T!''

Now I know you're a winner because you're reading this!

And I also know you can get that dream body,

Question is....

Are you willing to admit it to yourself?

Are you willing to admit it to your friends when they say: 'Why are you not drinking tonight'?

Or to your other half who tells you: ''Exercise is silly and you should just give up and go back to eating crap''.

Be defiant,

Be determined,

Be strong,

Remember your goals,

And I promise...

You will get that body you deserve!

If you wan't it of course.

Your fat loss and a happy ending!

Last weekend I went to watch Monsters University (The prequal to Monsters Inc)

Despite the eye watering prices for cinema tickets nowadays I actually came away with WAY more than I expected from that film.

***At the end of this you'll discover how THAT will help you become healthier, more confident and drop body fat!***

But first let me give you a brief summary of the film...

If you've seen either of the 2 films you will know there are 2 main characters..

Sully..

and

Mike Wazowski...

Sully is, lets just say, genetically gifted

***Everyone knows someone like that***

Mike however, is the complete opposite.

During the film, Mike and Sully have to undertake challenges and should they pass the challenges they will get onto the 'scare program' where they get the chance to become 'Scarers' at Monsters Inc!

This is Mike's goal, he wants to become a scarer more than anything in the world and he's prepared to do whatever it takes to become a scarer.

Sully, being genetically gifted, thinks he can just show up when he likes to these challenges without any preparation whatsoever.

Mike on the other hand, spends most of his time preparing, he reads the books on scaring, looks at the profiles of the best scarers in history and practices his scaring techniques morning, noon and night.

Mike is the underdog, he was never built to be a scarer and throughout the film is constantly being beaten by all the other students at Monsters university.

Until the end.

***(of course there's a happy ending, it's a film)***

Let me set the scene..

Mike and sully are on one team,

and the 'Jocks' let's call them, on the other..

It's 5 vs 5 in a Scaring showdown and the winners will get on to the Scare Program and ultimately become scarers at Monsters Inc.

The competition measures the monsters techniques on how much they can scare a test dummy.

The first 4 monsters of each team have been and the score is tied,

Guess who's left to go for each team..

Mike Wazowski

vs

The biggest,

Strongest,

Monster you've ever seen.

Long story short

***If you don't want to know the result, look away now***

Mike wins with a perfect scare!

Team OK (Omega Kappa), the team Mike is captain of, wins,

They all celebrate and then everyone goes home.

Accept Mike and team OK (Including Sully)

Mike walks over to the test dummy and sets it off ..

A perfect scream is registered again,

So Mike then clicks his fingers by the dummy..

Perfect scream!

Mike is suspicious, he checks the electrical board and finds someone has tampered with it,

''Sully, did you do that''? Mike asks..

''I had to Mike, just in case''.

Mike walks off with his head hung in shame, never knowing if he really did have it in him to win the Scaring Competition.

***Here's the good bit***

Mike decides it's time to see for real if he has what it takes so he enters the real world.

Sully, worried for his little friend, follows.

Soon, the two monsters find themselves trapped in a log cabin surrounded by 6-8 police men.

Both Sully and Mike are really panicking by this point and the only way out of the real world is to scare the humans that much that they create the biggest scare ever recorded!

So Mike hatches a plan, goes over everything he's learnt an Monsters University and puts it into action.

What happened next was a miracle...

The plan worked and little Mike Wazowski was the one responsible for the biggest scream ever recorded in Monsters history.

Mike and Sully return to Monsters University, unfortunately they have to leave because entering the real world is against University policy.

However, The 2 end up becoming employees at Monsters university and eventually become Top Scarers!

Proving that no matter what hand life deals you,

Where there is a will to succeed and a goal at the end strong enough to pull you towards it,

There is definitely a way.

Now how does that help you become healthier, more confident and drop body fat?

Simple, just set yourself a goal and,

No matter what your fears are,

No matter what your starting point is and

No matter what speed bumps you encounter along the way,

YOU WILL HIT YOUR GOALS!

One final thing..

Thinking about your goals won't get you the body and confidence levels you want.

You have to act on them,

You have to make a start and you have to commit 100% when you do!

Take small steps,

Follow the nutrition plans,

Show up to the workouts

And you too will reach your goal.

***Just think how amazing you will feel when you do***

Turns out, I actually run a program that is guaranteed to get you dropping at least a dress size in less than 30 days.

How to get a body like Beyoncé..

Yesterday I had a question from one of my many hard working clients,

It went something like this.....

''Why are you making me drink water, lemon juice and cayenne pepper?''

I gave her the answer but I thought I'd also write this post so YOU knew why I include it into most of my client's programs..

I often say to people;

''If you want to be good at something; just copy what's working for others, 

Success leaves clues,

And there's no point in trying to reinvent the wheel''. 

Now you may or may not remember, but Beyoncé Knowles went on a crazy detox weight loss plan for her role in Dream Girls.

(Watched it? Great, here's the sciency bit..)

The diet Beyoncé went on pretty much solely consisted of the aforementioned beverage along with some maple syrup for energy and a few other herbs and spices.

I heard a rumour that Beyoncé stayed on that diet for 11 weeks but I may be wrong?

And although I would NEVER recommend anyone go on such a drastic diet..

I still believe we can take something from the reasons why The Queen of the music world would choose such ingredients,

That's a lot of water, and many people get tired of the plain taste. One of the most popular ways to spice up your daily water intake is by adding lemon and cayenne pepper to it. Drinking lemon water is a long established folk remedy for weight loss and detox. Adding cayenne pepper to water also has proven health benefits.

Water

Drinking enough water is important to keep you hydrated so that your organs and systems function properly. When taken orally, capsaicin is also known for its ability to temporarily raise body temperature and regulate blood sugar''.  (That's the secret to fat loss right there!!).''

So what are you waiting for?

Go grab that glass,

Fill it with water,

Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon,

Sprinkle in some cayenne pepper,                           

And get that 'Body like Beyoncé!'

Just don't do what my sister did a few weeks ago...

She tossed a heaped teaspoon of cayenne pepper into the glass and downed it.

I think her mouth is still burning and the worlds supply of yogurt is slowly running out!! 

1/10 of a teaspoon should just about do it!

World exclusive! *Not what you'll expect*


''I was bullied at school and all I want to is to be appreciated''.

I wasn't expecting this....

At Matt Smith Fitness everyone must have an initial consultation prior to embarking on a life changing mission with us.

Most consultations start and end the same;

You tell us what you want,

We decide if we can help you,

And a decision is made based on the above.

Pretty standard stuff.

But then I got a call from a Lady, let's call her Mrs Y.

''Hello'' I said as I answered the phone. (Obviously)

''Matt, I need your help''! Exclaimed the voice on the other end of the line.

The conversation continued..

''How may I be of service Mrs.....?''

''Y, call me Mrs Y''. (I thought; ''That's a coincidence'')

''How can I help you Mrs Y?''

''I'm looking to hire a Personal Trainer and I've heard you're the man to go to''.

;-)

''Brilliant, let's get you in for a consultation and we can take things from there''.

2 days later Mrs Y shows up for her consultation.

What happened next took me hugely by surprise..

(I won't bore you with all the minor details, just the stuff that's relevant to this blog post)

''So Mrs Y, let's discuss your goals and how I can help you''.

''Well my main goal is to lose weight''.

(Honestly, if I had a pound for every time I heard that sentence I would be living a lifestyle akin to Richard Branson)

''OK, Mrs Y, let me ask you this..... WHY?''

''Because I think I could do with losing a few pounds''.

I continued: ''WHY?''

''Because my clothes are starting to feel a bit tight''.

Now although Mrs Y's previous two answers seem like a genuine reasons, my experience told me she wasn't completely opening up.

That's when I flipped the whole consultation on its head...

''Do you know why I workout Mrs Y?''

''Because it's your job?''

''Nope, try again''.

''Because you enjoy it?''

''I certainly enjoy it, but that's not WHY I workout''.

''I give up Matt, WHY do you workout?''

''You see Mrs Y, I used to think I stood in front of a mirror 6 days a week flexing my biceps because I enjoyed it, or because I would be able to attract a member of the opposite sex if I had a six pack, or even because I wanted to get on the front cover of a magazine''.

''All of which are perfectly good reasons to workout, but the REAL reason came from something much deeper''. I remarked

******I've never ever admitted this to anyone, not even my family, so you're actually part of a WORLD EXCLUSIVE right now...*******

This is my WHY as I told it last week to a lady I'd only just met..

''I was bullied at school....

and all I want...

to is to be appreciated by people, that's my main WHY''.

The look on her face tells me she wasn't expecting me to say that.

To be honest, I can't believe I said that!

Mrs Y then proceeded to tell me her main WHY was because she sat on a chair at her son's birthday party, which then broke underneath her, while most of her son's friends parents where in the same room.

She had never felt so embarrassed in her life and that was WHY she decided to give me the call.

How does all this help you?

Well... You may have a superficial WHY,

But when you decide to do something about it,

When things get tough, either with the nutrition plan your trainer has put you on,

Or during a workout with your trainer when it gets hard,

That superficial WHY won't be strong enough to carry you through,

Like most people, you will probably quit.


UNLESS....

You find your real WHY.

You want to lose weight?

WHY?

You want a flat stomach?

WHY?

You want to increase your health?

WHY?

And whatever answers you're coming up with in your head probably are't your real WHY.

Go deeper!

Really think about your WHY.

It may be becuse you want to be appreciated by others,

It may be because you want to see your children, or even your grandchildren, grow up,

It may even be because a relationship has failed and instead of wanting to get in shape so you can make the ex jealous, it maybe because you want to attract  Mr/Mrs Right..

Not in an aesthetic way, but because you will be leading a new life of increased health, increased fitness, increased energy and you want to find the same in a partner.

So here's a little exercise you can do to find your real WHY.

Shut yourself off from the rest of the world and just ask yourself...

''What is my WHY?''

Once you have that,

There will be no stopping you!

Tip: Write it down,

Keep it somewhere that's easily accessible,

And when you feel like quitting,

Just reach for your most powerful ammunition...

Your WHY!!
